Listen Astro values your trust and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, process, and secure your personal data when you use the Listen Astro platform, which is accessible via our website, mobile application, and related portals.
This policy applies to all users (clients) and independent consulting astrologers who register on, access, or utilize the services of Listen Astro. It governs data collected via our website (https://listenastro.com), the Listen Astro Android app, and any future iOS applications.
We offer different features depending on the platform you use:
We collect personal data to deliver planetary calculations, connect you with astrologers, and process recharges.
When registering or logging in (via phone numbers, email, or Google accounts), we collect your name, phone number, email address, profile picture, state of residence, and device details.
To generate your Vedic planetary charts and calculations, we process your date of birth, time of birth, birth place coordinates (latitude/longitude), and gender.
Our mobile apps offer optional Free Guidance (limited to 3 messages). We store these message transcripts and input birth parameters to deliver answers and transition you to live consultation options once the limit is exhausted.
When you engage in live consultations:
When utilizing Web AI features, your birth inputs and prompt queries are temporarily processed by our AI astrology microservice. We use OpenAI (GPT models) and Ollama for natural language generation. Conversations are cached ephemerally in Redis (up to 24 hours) for session continuity and are not logged long-term in our persistent database.
Recharges loaded into the in-app Wallet are processed securely via our PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway partner, Cashfree. Listen Astro does not store raw card numbers, CVVs, or NetBanking bank credentials. We store transaction metadata (e.g., transaction ID, amount, timestamp, status) to credit your wallet ledger.
We collect device identifiers (IP address, operating system, and FCM notification tokens) to deliver alerts, incoming call notifications, chat updates, and system alerts.
We use essential authentication cookies to keep you logged in. We use Google Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to monitor platform speed, reliability, and security metrics.
We process your data to: (i) Provide Vedic chart calculations, (ii) Connect you with astrologers, (iii) Secure wallet payments, (iv) Detect fraud, and (v) Comply with relevant legal/tax obligations.
We share data with third-party service providers only as necessary to run our platform: Firebase (Auth/Notifications), Agora (RTC connections), Cashfree (payments), Redis Labs (caching), and OpenAI (AI generation). We do not sell user data to marketing brokers. Astrologers undergo verification checks and are bound by confidentiality agreements.
We implement industry-standard administrative, physical, and electronic security measures to protect your data during transit (HTTPS/SSL encryption) and at rest.
We retain personal data as long as your account is active. Users can request account deletion via the app settings or by writing to listenastro.workspace@gmail.com. Personal profiles and chat history are wiped or anonymized within 30 days of request. Financial ledger, transactions, and invoices must be retained for 7 years under Indian tax laws and AML regulations.
Listen Astro does not intentionally market to or collect data from children under 18. Minors must consult under direct parent or guardian supervision.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal information.
For non-residents of India, data is securely stored on databases located in India or Google Firebase cloud nodes.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date stamp.
